about me

Hello, I'm Emily LaFleur-Brewster, a Deaf freelance writer, content creator, and photographer from Belleville, Ontario, Canada.

I have owned my photography business for over 10 years, and my passion for photography began when I was just 12 years old. Since then, I have dedicated my work to capturing meaningful moments and telling stories that matter.

Through my blog, Write by Emily, I share real and authentic stories from the Deaf community, as well as my own experiences. My goal is to help people better understand Deaf culture and experiences, celebrate Deaf achievements, and promote accessibility and inclusion across Canada.

My first published article, "Glanmore Celebrates Sign Language of Canada," was made possible through the support of Bay of Quinte, and I am very grateful for that opportunity. Writing and photography have become more than just careers they are my passions and the tools I use to connect people through storytelling.

On this website, you'll find Deaf community news, personal reflections, interviews, helpful tips, and reviews of books, TV shows, and movies. Most importantly, you'll discover inspiring stories from Deaf individuals whose experiences deserve to be shared.

I believe Deaf stories are important, powerful, and worth sharing. Every story has value, and every person deserves to be heard. Through my writing, photography, and content creation, I hope to inspire others, build understanding, and create positive change.

Thank you for visiting Write by Emily. This is the beginning of my journey sharing Deaf stories, and I can't wait to share them with you.

If you are looking for a Deaf writer, editor, content creator, photographer, newsletter specialist, accessibility consultant, or storyteller to help share your message, I would be happy to work with you.

come have a tea with me!
